Do I need a DBS check and Public Liability Insurance to apply?

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds! While a DBS certificate and Public Liability Insurance are not strictly mandatory to submit your initial application, they are highly recommended.

Handlers who provide these documents are awarded premium “Verified” badges (🛡 & 📋) on their public profiles. Customers actively look for these badges, meaning verified Handlers typically secure significantly more bookings and build trust instantly.

If you don’t have these documents yet, don’t worry — you can still apply! Our compliance team reviews every application on a case-by-case basis. You can always start your journey with us and upload your documents later to unlock your verification badges.

How do I receive my job manifest?

Once approved, you’ll get access to the PAPEPO Driver Mobile App. It automatically generates your daily optimised route and digital job cards. You can log in securely right from your smartphone — no extra apps to download.

Am I employed by PAPEPO?

No. All Handlers operate as Independent Self-Employed Contractors. PAPEPO is a technology matching platform. You are free to set your own hours, work for other clients, and manage your own tax and National Insurance obligations via HMRC.

How long does the application process take?

The online wizard takes under 5 minutes to complete. Once submitted, our compliance team aims to review your application within 1–3 working days. Upon approval, you’ll receive a Welcome Email with your password setup link and first-day briefing.

What equipment do I need?

You have two options: bring your own PAPEPO-approved kit (biodegradable waste bags, pet-safe disinfectant, enzymatic cleaner, and bin odour neutraliser), or purchase a branded PAPEPO Starter Kit which we’ll ship before your first route.
